We Can Make a Difference

Democratic Candidate for
US House of Representatives, CA-14

Leadership for the Future

In this moment, District 14 deserves a representative who will fight for affordable healthcare, jobs, and voter protections, and return to a government for the people by the people.

One who will engage in real conversations with Independent and Republican voters to find common ground and common-sense solutions

District 14 deserves a representative with the technical expertise and operational discipline to deliver real-world solutions. Carin Elam is running to bridge the gap between policy and performance.

Focused on Solutions

Lowering Cost of Living

Countering Healthcare's Extreme Profit Incentives

Realign healthcare systems that prioritize patient outcomes and affordability over corporate dividends and stockholder profits.

Reining in Insurance Overreach

Fight for federal oversight to prevent arbitrary rate hikes on home and auto policies that ignore actual risk history.

Eliminating Tariff Tax

Remove broad tariffs that function as hidden taxes on East Bay families. Restore trade stability with partners like Canada and Mexico. Lower costs on everything from building materials to kitchen essentials.

Why Carin

Carin began her long career in business and technology consulting working with healthcare clients, both in hospitals and with health insurance companies. She has the professional literacy to move the U.S. from a purely for-profit healthcare model to an expanded choice model in which affordable healthcare is an option.

Future-proofing Local Jobs

AI-Resilient Workforce

Ensure data center and tech development in our district creates high-wage trades that cannot be automated. Carin will treat AI as a tool for empowerment, not displacement.

Protecting Infrastructure Investments

Restore Inflation Reduction Act funding to ensure East Bay leads in clean energy innovation, electric vehicles (EVs), and home efficiency.

Why Carin

Leading Workforce and Business Development at LightHouse for the Blind & Visually Impaired, Carin gained valuable experience with federal programs like AbilityOne. She knows how to build career pathways that move individuals from federal assistance to economic independence.

Holding Government Accountable

Restoring the Rule of Law

Hold the federal government to a strict culture of compliance. No office is above the law, and Carin will fight the misuse of executive powers, such as sweeping pardons.

Ending Judicial Weaponization

Stop the use of the judiciary in targeting political opponents and refocus our legal institutions on the impartial administration of justice.

Why Carin

Studying International and European Governance gives Carin the background to demand transparency and ensure organizations adhere to regulatory standards.

Protecting Safe and Easy Voting

Protecting the Right to Vote

Carin will fight for federal protections to ensure every eligible citizen - including the elderly, college students, service members, their families, and naturalized citizens - can safely and easily cast their ballots.

Protecting Election Infrastructure

Advocating for federal standards supporting paper trails, robust audits, and modern cybersecurity to protect our voting systems against both foreign and domestic interference.

Strengthening Federal Oversight

While election administration is a state responsibility, the federal government has a duty of oversight. Carin will push for transparent, non-partisan standards that remove political bias from the process. Congress needs to end its grandstanding for political gain.

Why Carin

Carin researched and wrote a Master’s thesis regarding the use of voter suppression to swing elections. She  worked directly with fellow citizens overseas, helping them navigate the complexities of participating in our democratic processes from abroad.
